Kahe päevaga oli Ravelrys Limericki rätiku statistiga selline: 647 lemmikuks märkimist, 23 tänukommentaari, üle 2,5 tuhande allalaadimise. Aitäh kõigile!
The two days statistics for my Limerick Shawl on Ravelry was as follows: 647 favourites, 23 thank you comments, more than 2.5 thousand downloads. Than you all!
Two more patterns for scarves with long ends are coming. I say in advance that linen or wool or sock yarn is suitable (100 g/350-450 m or lighter, fingering and light fingering weight).
Now to the long awaited review. It appears that one post is too little and I will write more. Lana Grossa has many different publications. Recently they've started publishing thematic booklets about particular yarn sorts. Very often there are effect yarns or just yarns with unusual texture and/or colour distribution on display but one does not know how to use them. This brochure is about four yarn types. In the beginning there is a picture of them.
I like the following things: 1) the styling of the picture is simple, one can see what kind of knits we are talking about; yet the pictures are elegant; 2) as usually in German magazines, there are clear charts; 3) the knits are simple as well: it feels counterintuitive to overdo it when the yarn is not your regular yarn: otherwise the beauty of the yarn remains invisible, neither does the patern; 4) even if the particular projects are not attractive, you can use ideas, such as combining diferent textures (mohair + ribbon yarn) or stitch pattern choice.
