Mitmesugust, midagi uut ka/Various matters and something new

Esialgu lubatud jutt konstruktsioonist. Sellest olen kirjutanud siin. Pildil on viimati kootud musta ürbi konstruktsioon (ilma varrukateta).
I will start with a description of the construction. Usually a wrap/wrapigan is a rectangle with holes for the arms. I have written here about it. In the picture is the construction of my recent black wrap (without sleeves). The wrap is folded here and one front piece covers the other. When the first front piece has a sufficient length, you can bind off the stitches for the armhole and put aside the stitches for the collar and continue only the side. Thus you will get an armhole. Then you cast on the same number of stitches as bound off for the armhole and start working on the collar stitches again and knit the back piece.

In principle you can knit the same piece bottom up or top down. Every knitting direction has its strong and weak sides. I will talk about it some other time.

See valge pitsiriba on proovilapp Pronksi poe tarvis. Anu palus kududa peenikesest villa-puuvilla segust midagi pitsilist. Lõng on Cascade Yarns Alpaca Lace (50 g/400 m), Deena kingitus. Mõlemal juhul on vardad 3 mm.
This white lace stripe is a swatch for the Pronksi yarn shop. Anu has asked to knit something airy from this laceweight wool-cotton blend. I picked the pattern from "Pitsilised koekirjad" and discovered that I like it. As I have a lot of laceweight yarn now, I decided to make a lace scarf in this pattern. The yarn is Cascade Yarns Alpaca Lace (50 g/400 m), Deena's present. In both cases I use 3 mm needles.

Tegelik värv on ereroheline.
The true colour is bright green.

Beautifull pattern. Could you write
how does it called?

Bea, thank you. This particular pattern has no name (or not that I am aware of); however, it is reminiscent of so-called käpakiri (paw stitch) or kassikäpakiri (cat paw stitch), of which several versions are represented in the Haapsalu Shawl book.
