Sviiter rätiku mustriga/A sweater with the shawl pattern

Mõni päev tagasi postitasin mustri pildi ja kirjutasin, et see pole rätik. Lugu on selline.
Several days ago I posted a picture of a stitch pattern and wrote that this was not a shawl. This is how the story goes.

Tütar tuli koju ja nägi lillat rätikut (see on Ligita rätik, nr 1 on siin ja nr 2 on siin).
My daughter came home and saw the purple shawl (it is Ligita shawl pattern, no 1 is here and no 2 is here).

Siis arvas ta, et võiks olla suvine kerge sviiter samast lõngast ja sama mustiga, ainult kas must või tumesinine. Nüüd ongi mul käsil sviiter.
So she thought she would like a light summer sweater from the same yarn and with the same pattern but black or dark blue. I am knitting the sweater now.

Kuna muster on auguline, ei saagi aru, mis ta on. Aga pärast niisutust ja pingutamist avaneb (vt valmisrätikud). Esialgu kartsin, et äkki on 100 g/800 m meriino liiga "vedel" ja hõre, aga ei. Kombineerides muude lõngadega ei olnud koepind enam nii õhuline. Nii et antud juhul tundus kõige parem kududa ühekordsest lõngast.
As the pattern has a lot of holes, you don't see what it is. After moistening and bloking it opens up (see finished shawls). At first I feared that a 100 g/800 m meino would be too "liquid" and holey but this was not the case. Combination with other yarns did not give the same airy fabric. So in this case knitting with one strand seems the best.

Vilniuses/In Vilnius

Lühike Vilniuse reis. Nagu ikka, käisin Diteksases. Seal on alati üht-teist huvitavat, aga põhiliselt on see mohääriparadiis. Kogu riiul on mohääri täis.
A short trip to Vilnius. As always, I visited Diteksas. There is always something interesting but mostly it is a mohair paradise. The entire shelf is full of mohair.

Aga mida valida?
But what should I choose?

Tegelikult on mul üsna konkreetne plaan. Seda sviitrit pole jõudnud eraldi pildistada, aga see figureerib mitmes fotos n-ö taustana. Nt siin.
Actually, I have a rather clear plan. I have not got this sweater photographed as a separate knit but it appears in other photos as a background, so to say. For instance, here.

Sviiter sai valmis meie TFW kollektsiooni esitluse puhul. Enne esitlust polnud aega tegelda muude asjadega. Siiski enne esitlust tegi Sinencia Kass paar klõpsu. On meeleolu, aga kudumi detaile pole näha.
I made this sweater for our Tallinn Fashion Week show. Before the show we had no time to do other tings. Still, right before the show Sinencia Kass did a couple of shots. The mood is rendered but there are no details of the knit.

Lõngaks on tumehall mohäär ja must peenvillane (hangitud suvel Diteksase poest mõttega teha kudum TFW-ks). On ehk näha, et varrukatel on väike soonik, see on hoopis puuvillasest. Väga lihtne pisut vaba kudum. Kannan kogu aeg. Mõtlesin, et teeks midagi taolist veel, aga oleks siis hall. Nii et selleks saingi endale lõnga.
The yarns are dark gray mohair and black laceweight wool (purchased this summer at Diteksas in order to knit a sweater for TFW). Probably you can see that the sleeves have some ribbing in the bottom; the ribbing is from cotton. A very simple knit with some positive ease. I am wearing it all the time. I am thinking to do again something in this spirit but in gray. This is what I got the yarn for.

Rätik kuivab/The shawl is drying

Imeline kuju, mulle meeldib selliseid kududa. Lõpetades oli pisut üle 200 s. Vihil polnud etiketti, nii et kaalun ära hiljem ja vaatan, palju lõnga kulus.
Wonderful shape, I like knitting this kind of shawls. Bind-off edge was slightly more than 200 stitches. The skein had no label, so I will weigh the shawl later and see how much yarn I've used.

Võib-olla oleks saanud kududa veel paar rida, aga ma ei tahtnud riskida.
Maybe I could have knitted a couple of rows more but I did not want to risk.

Muster on väga lihtne.
The stitch pattern is very simple.

 

Eilne tund/Yesterday's class

Eilses tunnis rääkisime soome keeles põhikonstruktsioonist. Ilm oli ilus, seltskonnal kotid lõnga täis.
In yesterday's class we discussed the basic construction (in Finnish). The weather was nice and the audience had bags full of yarn.

The yarn is 8/1 (100 g/800 m), I like it a lot. This shawl construction suits variegated yarns extremely well.

Rätik valmis/A finished shawl

Tundmatu tootja tundmatu lõng, tunde järgi puuvill või puuvill + midagi (linane, viskoos). Väga hea langevus, kude on reljeefne.
An unknown yarn by an unknown manufacturer, feels like cotton or cotton + something (lienen, rayon). Very good draping and the fabric is textured.

 

 

Kaalub 174 g, varras 4 mm. Oletan, et midagi nagu 50 g/120-130 m.
The weight is 174 g, needles 4 mm. I suppose it is something around 50 g/120-130 m.
