Lõngad on tundmatu peenike mohäär 100 g/1000 m ja peenvillane 100 g/1500 m, vardad 4,5 mm ja 5 mm. Kumbagi lõnga kulus u 500-550 m.
The yarns are unknown thin mohair 100 g/1000 m and laceweight wool 100 g/1500 m, needles 4.5 mm and 5 mm. I used up about 500-550 m of each yarn.

Rätik on valmis/The shawl is completed

Praegu on mul vaid üks pilt, aga olen juba rätikut kandnud. Ilm on tuuline ja rätik läheb asja ette.
So far I have only one pic but I already have been wearing the shawl. The weather is windy and it comes quite handy.

Jutt on Balladi rätikust ehk 2019. a. kruiisirätikust. See rätik on mohääri ja peenvillase jääkidest. Teen varsti veel ühe näidiseks Marianne's Mohair/Adele's Mohair mohääri-linase segust. Kruiisil saab näha kõik 3 tükki.
I am talking about Balladi shawl aka 2019 craft cruise shawl. This one is from mohair and laceweight wool leftovers. I will soon knit one more for a sample from mohair-linen blend by Marianne's Mohair/Adele's Mohair. All three will be on display at the cruise.

Plaanid/Planning

Helsingis Marianne's Mohair kontoris. Arutame plaane. Pärast kruiisi tuleb rätiku õpetus Ravelrysse. Niikaua leppisime kokku, et koon veel ühe, teist värvi ja natuke suurema. See hall on minu enda oma mohääri ja peenvillase jääkides.
In Helsinki at Marianne's Mohair office. We are discussing plans. After the cruise the shawl pattern will be published on Ravelry. Meanwhile we decided that I knit one more in a different colour and slightly larger. The grey one is for myself, using up leftovers of mohair and laceweight wool.

Üks proovilappidest, auguline patent (vt siin) läheb ka töösse, sellest tuleb sall kruiisi ajaks. Siis koon veel paar vanemat mudelit näidiseks Tampere messi ajaks novembriks.
One of the swatches, brioche with eyelets (here) will go soon into production, meaning that I will make a scarf for the cruise. Then I will knit some old models as samples for Tampere fair in November.

Yesturday I got two pictures with three shawls. Grey: Liisa. Green: Katja. Red: Kaja.

Võib proovida mitmesugustest lõngadest. Mohäär, linane, sokilõng, villane, meriino, mis kellelegi meeldib. Varsti tuleb kooskudumine Facebookis, õpetus on olemas inglise ja soome keeles. Jälgige infot!

Kruiisirätik/Cruise shawl

Nagu juba välja kujunenud, toimub oktoobris soome kudujate kruiis (Helsinki-Stockholm) ja iga kord disanin mõne rätiku. Seekord on jälle kohal Adele's Mohair/Marianne's Mohair, nad on ühtlasi ka lõngasponsorid. Võib vaadata varasemate kruiiside kohta märksõna käsitöökruiis/craft cruise.
As it has already become a tradition, Finnish knitters cruise (Helsinki-Stockholm) will take place in October and every time I design a shawl for it. This time Adele's Mohair/Marianne's Mohair will be present again, they are my yarn sponsors. You can read about previous cruises under the tag käsitöökruiis/craft cruise.

 

 

Üht ja teist/Various matters

Sall üleminekuvärvidega sokilõngast on valmis. Selle pildi tegin siis, kui oli veel pooleli. Varsti näitan juba valmiskujul ja kirjutan pikemalt. Praegu ütlen vaid, et pool- või täispatent on lihtne ja efektne muster, sobib ka siis, kui teha sall igasugu jääkides. Külmemal ajal võtan ette ja revideerin oma mohäärijääke, siis tuleb jälle midagi patentkoes.
The scarf from variegated sock yarn is finished. I took this pics when it was still in progress. I will get taken photos of the completed scarf soon and write more about it. For now I would just say that half-brioche and brioche is simple yet outstanding pattern and is good for a scarf from all kind of leftowers. When the cold season comes, I will undertake revision of my mohair leftovers and make something in brioche stitch again.

Varsti tuleb veel rätikuid, sest ees on traditsiooniline käsitöökruiis ja sain juba lõnga ja ülesande disainida krusiisrätik. Sügisel tuleb Tallinna Rahvaülikoolis rätikute konstrueerimise kursus, vt siin, selleks ajaks peaksin läbi kuduma veel paar konstruktsiooni.
There will be more shawls soon because the traditional carft cruise (Helsinki-Stockholm) is coming and I have already got some yarn and the task to design a shawl. In autumn I will teach shawl construction course at Tallinn Folk University (if you know Estonian, look here) and I have to knit up several more constructions before that time.

Pilte Stockholmi käsitöömessilt/Pictures from Stockholm handicraft fair

Tohutult suur ruum, täis publikut, lõngu, tarvikuid, kangaid. Paljudel on seljas ja kaelas omakootud asjad, kohe saab aru, et pole poest ostetud. Rääkisin juttu mitme lõngatootjaga. Sümpaatne on, et kohal olid väiketootjad, kes ise ketravad ja/või värvivad oma lõngu.
A huge space full with public, yarns, knitting and sewing equipment, fabrics. Many were wearing knits and you could immediately realize that this is not from a store. I talked to several yarn producers. It is extremely nice that there were many small scale producers who spin and/or dye their yanrs.

Üsna palju tõsist villast, mis rõõmustab mind.
There was quite a lot of no nonsence wool, which makes me happy.

  

See kapike on eriti kena, imeilus peenike villane, mida teeb Båvens Spinnhus. Meenutab Raasiku villast (Aade Lõng).

This shelf is particularly beautiful, very nice lightweight wool produced by Båvens Spinnhus. It reminds of Raasku wool (Aade Lõng).

Vahepeal sai valmis üks sall, aga praeguseks olgu mustvalge pilt. Hiljem kirjutan rohkem.
And inbetween a scarf has been completed, a black and white photo for now. I will write more later.
