Head uut (kudu)aastat!/Happy New (Knitting) Year!

Oli tihe kuduaasta. Uutest asjadest on koostöö Adele's Mohair ja selle soome esindaja Marianne's Mohair firmadega, sain proovida uusi lõngu ja sellest sai tehtud mitu salli ja rätikut.
It was an intensive knitting year. I had a totally new collaboration with Adele's Mohair and its Finnish representative Marianne's Mohair and tried several new yarns for shawls and scarves.

 

Veel tegin koostööd Kristel Kuslapuuga, kudusin tema kollektsiooni jaoks Maokirja sviitri.
In addition, there was a collaboration with Kristel Kuslapuu, I made Maokirja (snake pattern) sweater for her collection.

Suurepärane kogemus oli rätikute konstrueerimise kursus Käsitöös ja muidugi ka Burda Style Finland käsitöökruiis.
Shawl construction course organized by Käsitöö was a wonderful experience, as well as Burda Style Finland craft cruise.

Sall/The scarf

Eelmises postituses kirjutasin, et mul ei jätkunud lõnga sviitri lõpetamiseks ja hakkasin kuduma lihtsat salli. Täna saan puuduva toki hankida, aga niikaua on salli kootud niipalju.
In the previous post I wrote that I had run out of yarn and cannot finish the sweater and started knitting a simple scarf. I will be able to get an additional ball of yarn today; this is the scarf so far.

 

Telliskivi/Brick

Mõni ehk mäetab seda sviitrit, mis on nüüd Domus Linum poes. See on väga soe, sest lõngad on Raasiku (Aade Lõng) villane 8/2 pluss Angora 2.
Some of you probably remember this sweater that is now available at Domus Linum store. It is very warm since the yarns I used are Aade Lõng Estonian wool 8/2 and Angora 2.

Nüüd teen endale teisest lõngast (Cashmere Gold, Madame Tricote, poolvillane, 100 g/320 m).
Now I am making one for myself from a different yarn (Cashmere Gold, Madame Tricote, wool blend 100 g/320 m).

Praeguseks on juba rohkem kootud ja otsustasin, et ei tee kõrget kraed (see lõng hoiab soonikut ja tõmbab liiga kokku), nii et harutasin selle ja jätsin 5-6 rida kaeluse viimistlemiseks. Aga nüüd on probleem, et lõng on otsas ja pean ootama veel paar päeva, sest pühade tõttu on pood kinni. Kuna ma ei saa kudumata olla, alustan mohääri jääkidest salli.
As of now, I have knitted some more and decided against the turtle neck collar (this yarn in ribbing makes the fabric contract too much), so I frogged it and left some 5-6 rows for collar finishing. But I have a problem now because I've run out of yarn and have to wait a couple of days because due to the holidays the store is closed. Since I cannot be not knitting, I will start a scarf from mohair leftovers.

Ikka jään sallist ilma/I will not get this scarf after all

Minu mees vaatas salli ja küsis, kas see on juba "kositud". Mis siis muud üle jääb, andsin talle, aga enne tegin mõned pildid.
My husband observed the scarf and ask whether it is already "betrothed", so to say. What else could I do but to givi the scarf to him. I managed to make some pictures before that.

 

Otsustasin, et salle ja rätikuid koon siis, kui lähen reisile kuu lõppus, alustasin hoopis sviitrit, sellest kirjutan lähiajal.
I decided that I will make shawls and scarves on my trip in the end of the month and started a sweater, of which I will write more soon.

Sallivabrik on jälle lahti/Scarf factory is open again

Sall edeneb, saan varsti valmis. Aga siis on mul mõte proovida ära veel üks muster (ja see sall läheb ilmselt kingituseks) ja teha veel üks auguline sall, nagu praegune mõnest peenemast mohäärist. Jääke on ka, tuleb neist veel mingi sall või rätik välja mõelda. Plaanis on ka reljeefse mustriga sviiter, lõng on selle jaoks olemas, aga ma ei tea, kas koon kohe järgmise salli või alustan sviitrit.
The scarf is growing and will be completed soon. Then I have an idea to try out another stitch pattern (and this scarf will be a present, apparently) and then to make another scarf with eyelets like the current one but from lighter mohair. There are some leftovers and probably I have to design a scarf or a shawl from them. I have plans for a textured sweater and the yarn is waiting but I am not sure whether I will immediately strat the next scarf or the sweater.

 

Jääkidest sall/Leftovers scarf

Mul on järel kahekordselt keritud peenikest Astro mohääri (100 g/1000 m, kahekordsena siis 100 g/500 m) ja Twin-nimelist meriinot (100 g/800 m). Panin kokku, vardad 5,5 mm, alustasin endale augulist salli.
I have some thin mohiar Astro, wound two strands toghether (100 g/1000 m, held double means 100 g/500 m) and Twin-named merino (100 g/800 m). I put them together, needles 5.5 mm, and started a scarf with holes for myself.

Edeneb kiirest, muster on juba tuttav. Tuleb üsna soe sall. Mul tekis mõte, kuidas seda mustrit veel modifitseerida, aga siis teen juba teise salli siledamast lõngast.
It is progressing quickly, the pattern is quite familiary. It will be a rather warm scarf. I have an idea of some modifications of the pattern but this will be another scarf from a smooth yarn.

Sviitreid/Some sweaters

Praegu pole veel tekstuurse sviitre häid pilte, panen siia vaid ühe.
I still do not have good pics of the textured sweater, I will post only one.

Mohäärisviiter edeneb, mõlemad varrukad olemas.
The mohair sweater is progressing, I have both sleeves by now.

Uus/New

Uus on tegelikult üsna vana, aga lihtsaid õhukesi mohäärisviitreid pole kunagi liiga palju.
New is actually quite old but there are never too many light mohair sweaters.

Tegelikult praeguseks on kaenla alla tekkinud oma 10 cm. Jätkan veel mõnda aega ja siis teen varrukad.
Actually, about 10 cm has been added to this. I am going to carry on for some time and then start the sleeves.

Sai valmis/Finished

Sviiter sai valmis. Väljas on kehv ilm, valgust on vähe, seetõttu esialgu selline pilt.
The sweater is finished. The weather is lousy and there is almost no light, thus, only this picture for starters.

Kuna muster on sooniku põhine, siis kududes tundub, et töö on väga kortsus ja kole. Pärast niisutamist ja pingutamist on koepind aga väga ilus. Vaatamata sellele, et lõng on must, muster on hästi nähtav.
Whereas the stitch pattern is based on ribbing, it seems while knitting that the work creases a lot and is ugly. After washing and blocking the fabric turns rather beautiful. Regardless the black colour, the stitch pattern has a great definition.

Must sviiter/A black sweater

Esiteks pole musti sviitreid kunagi liiga palju. Teiseks, tegin kevadel tumehallist leedu villasest sellise sviitri (õpetus on Ravelry). Mõnele ei meeldi üldse oma disaine korrata, aga mulle meeldib teha seda väikeste modifikatsioonidega.
Fist, there are never too many black sweaters. Second, in Spring I made this sweater (pattern on Raverly) from dark grey Lithuanian wool. Some designers stronlgy dislike repeating their designs but I like to do it with small modifications.

Niisiis, lõng on teistsugune, villase ja polüamiidi segu ja pisut peenem (100 g/400 m). Kalkulatsioon on ka teistsugune, kuna kudumistihedus on erinev. Otsustasin vähemalt praegu, et ei tee kõrget kraed.
So the yarn is different, a wool and polyamide blend and somewhat thinner (100 g/400 m). I had a different calculation because of the difference in gauge. I decided at least for now that I am not making a turtleneck collar.

 

Mõlemad varrukad on valmis, kaelus on viimistletud, nüüd tuleb alla kududa.
Both sleeves are completed and the neckline is finished, now it is just knitting downwards.

Dear friends, I cannot help repeating how much I like this pattern.

Mul on vaja veel paar rida kududa ja saabki valmis. Vaatame, kuidas see meriinolõng (Record, BBB Filati, 50 g/175 m) käitub pärast niisutamist ja pingutamist. Peaks veel endale tegema sellise lambavillase.
I have to knit a couple of rows more and then it is finished. We shall see how this merino wool (Record, BBB Filati, 50 g/175 m) behaves after soaking and blocking. I need one such scarf for myself from lamb wool.
