Soonikupõhine topp/Ribbing-based top

Nagu kirjutasin enne, Anne (annekk Ravelrys) käis siin poe sünnipäeval. Veetsime kenasti aega. Ta sai hulga huvitavaid lõngu ja muuhulgas tegi fotod. Ilm oli vihmane, aga mitte külm, nii et sai poseerida.
As I wrote earlier, Anne (annekk on Ravery) visited us on the occasion of WW yarnshop birthday. We had a good time. She got a variety of interesting yarns and took some photos, by the way. The weather was rainy but not cold, so it was possible to take modelled pictures.

My good friends Inga and Maiu (Inga-S and Freddy on Ravelry, respectively) have made some gauge swatches in conventional easily available yarns. So the pattern is coming.

WW sünnipäev/WW yarnshop birthday

Palju lõngu, kerimist, kudumist, suhtlemist, nii et ei jaksa pikemalt kirjutada. Panen mõned pildid.

And here is the efficient Malle who diligently wound yarns. As you can see, the colour of her hair and that of the yarn are matching.

 

Aasta tagasi oli soe ilm, siis oli selline postitus. Muide, Anne tuli Soomest kohale, sellest kirjutan mõni päev hiljem.
A year ago the weather was warm and this was the post on the occasion. By the way, Anne came from Finland again, I will write more about it in a couple of days.

Töös/Under construction

Praegu on veel vähe kootud, aga muster on pisut näha.
Not much has been knitted up to now but one already can see a bit of the stitch pattern.

Värvid on tegelikult tumedamad. Sokilõnga ja mohääri vaheldus.
The colours are darker in reality. Alternation of a sock yarn and mohair.

Las olla topp/Let it be a top

Kas see, et praegu on palav või igatahes soe, on mõjunud, aga otsustasin, et las olla topp. Nüüd kuivab, värv on fotodel vale. Tegelikult on hästi tumesinine. Olen lõngaga rahul, hea meelega prooviks veel paellõngu.
Maybe the fact that the weather is hot or at least warm has influenced me but I decided to leave it as a top. Now it is drying and the colour in the pictures is wrong. In reality it is navy blue. I am quite satisfied with the yarn and would gladly try more ribbon yarns.

 

Kas sviiter või topp?/A sweater or a top

Nagu teate, koon Spike'i-nimelisest puuvillast paellõnga. Hakkasin mõtlema, et kas jäta topiks või teha sviiter. Puuvillane sviiter on samuti hea asi, aga ka praegu tundub kena. Palavus ei lase ehk kainelt mõtelda ja otsustada.
As you know, I am knitting a cotton ribbon yarn named Spike. I started pondering wheather to leave it as a top or to mae a sweater. A cotton sweater is a nice thing, too, but it looks nice as it is now. The heat does not let me think clearly and decide.

Soonikupõhistest mustritest ja natuke paellõngast/On ribbing-based stitch patterns and something on ribbon-like yarns

Olen juba varem kirjutanud oma suhtumisest soonikutesse. Mulle meeldib, kui soonik ei ole pelgalt funktsionaalne, vaid kas kogu disaini põhiosa. Aeg-ajalt otsin uusi mustreid, mis põhinevad soonikutel. Neid on palju erinevaid.
I have already written about my attitude towards ribbing. I like when ribbing is not merely functional but is the main part of a design. From time to time I look for new stitch patterns that are based on ribbing. There are plenty.

Tundub, et viimasel ajal käsi tahab selliseid mustreid kududa. Ka selle sviitri muster põhineb soonikul.
It seems that recently my hands want to knit such kind of stitches. The pattern in this sweater is also ribbing-based.

Siin on minu lõng. Tegelik värv on tumedam. Lõng on puuvill nimega Spike, ostetud Wool and Woollen poest. Väga mõnus, tuleb ainult otsida sobiv muster. Mu kogemus paellõngadega on piiratud. Olen kudunud ka taolist siidi, mis ei olnud aga üldse kuigi pehme, nii et pärlkude tuli välja päris reljeefne. Panen ühe pildi, rohkem juttu on siin.
This is my yarn. The real colour is darker. The yarn is some kind of cotton named Spike, bought at Wool and Woollen shop. Very pleasant to knit, you only have to find a suitable stitch pattern. My experinece with ribbon yarns is rather limited. I've knitted a similar kind of silk that was not soft at all and moss stitch had a nice definition. I show one picture and the rest is here.
