Plaanid ja tegelikkus/Plans and reality

Plaanisin, et roheline kampsun tuleb suure kraega. Aga kui hakkasin kudumise käigus selga proovima, siis selgus, et ta tahab olla üsna klassikaline jakk, ju kahekordne pärlkude ja tegumood viitab kangesti Chaneli stiilis jakkidele.
I was planning my green jacket with a large collar. But once I started trying it on as I knitted, it became clear that it wishes to become a rather classical jacket, probably, double moss stitch and the shape strongly refer to Chanel style jackets.

Praegu jakk kuivab. Nööbid on olemas ja loodetavasti saab nädalavahetusel ka pildistatud.
Now it is drying. I already have buttons and hopefully I will get it photographed during the weekend.

Sviiter ja rätik/The sweater and the shawl

Nüüd saan näidata pilte. Nii sviitrit kui rätikut olen juba kandnud üsna palju. Ave, tänan piltide eest!

Vardad/Needles: 4,5 mm, 5 mm
Lõng/Yarn: Taiga, 96 g.
Ostsin Taiga-nimelist lõnga W&W-st, koostis on polüamiid, mohäär ja villane. Ei mäleta metraaži, lõng on pooli peal, vist 100 g/400 m, aga tundub kahtlane, sest terve sviiter (olgugi, et 3/4 varrukatega) ei tule välja 400 meetrist.
I bought the yarn named Taiga in Wool & Woolen shop, it is polyamide, mohair and wool blend. I don't remember the metrage, the yarn is sold in cones, it was 100 g/400 but I doubt it because the entre sweater, albeit with 3/4 sleeves cannot come out of less than 400 metres.

 Sama Taiga ja Aade Lõng 8/3. Vardad 4,5 mm, kaalub 130 g, aga mul on raske öelda midagi kinldat metraaži kohta. Arvan, et rätkule on kulunud kokku üle 400 m, Taigat on pisut rohkem, alumine hall sektsioon on laiem.

The same Taiga and Aade Lõng 8/3. Needles 4.5 mm, weight 130 g but it is hard for me to tell anything definite concerning the metrage. I think that for the whole shawl I used over 400 m, of which the share of Taiga is bigger because the botom grey section is wider.

Kahekordne pärlkude/Double moss stitch

Mõni lõng ei ole hea reljeefsete mustrite jaoks, kuid mõni muster sobib ikka, kuigi ei tule väga reljeefne. Olen ammu märganud, et Raasiku 8/3 "talub" kahekordset pärlkude (aga mitte ühekordset). Samasugune on Elotroi jämedam lõng (100 g/250 m) jm eesti villased. Nüüd on töös lõng, millest kirjutasin siin.
Some yarns are not suitable for highly textured stitch patterns but certain patterns look rather well, although they do not have high definition. I have noticed a while ago that Raasiku 8/3 "tolerates" double moss stitch (but not ordinary moss stitch). The same is true for the thicker yarns by Elotroi (100 g/250 m) and other Estonian yarns. Now I am working with the yarn  mentioned here.

Pärast pikka vahet/After a long break

Jõudsin eile öösel Saksamaalt. Saksamaa rõõmustab ikka kudumisajakirjade rohkusega. Imetlusväärne: bussi- või raudteejaama tavalisest kioskist leidub nii  Verena, Sabrina vms kui ka mustrivihikuid, aga ka meil vähem tuttavaid saksakeelseid ajakirju, mis ilmuvad näiteks Šveitsis. Seekord aega oli vähe. Tahtsin pildistada käsitööajakirjade riiulit, aga ei lubatud, seetõttu näitan ainsat pilti, mille jõudsin teha:
Yesterday at night I returned from Germany. As always, I am pleased with a great diversity of knitting magazines there. I cannot help admiring: common kiosks at bus or railway stations carry Verena, Sabrina etc as well as stitch patterns collections and German-language magazines less known here (for instance, something that is pulbished in Switzerland). I had little time. I wanted to take a photo of the stand with craft magazines but was not allowed, therefore, I show the only picture I managed to take:

Ostsin sellise mustrivihiku. Mustrivihikus on mitu modelli ka (mõnes on ainult mustrid). Mulle meeldivad pehmed palmikud, kaanesviiter on mohäärist, nii et tasuks proovida, lõng ei pea olema tugeva keeruga.
I bought this collection of stitch patterns. There are several knits in the brochure (sometimes there are stitch patterns only). I like the soft cables, the sweater on the cover is from mohair, so it is worth trying, the yarn does not have to have a tight twist.

More cables that are quite simple but not very common.

See on Šveitsis ilmuv ajakiri, nägin esimest korda. Kuid huvitav on, et lõpus on tabel, kus näidatakse lõngade asendusvõimalusi. Variandid on kas šveitsi Chulana toodang või Lang või Lana Grossa Saksamaalt.
This magazine is beign published in Switzerland, I saw it for the first time. What is noteworthy that in the end there is a table for yarn substitution. The options are either Swiss Chulana or German Lang or Lana Grossa.

See kampsun meeldib mulle väga, lihtne kahekordne pärlkude, suhteliselt jäme, aga pehme lõng.
I liked this jacket a lot, it is simple double moss stitch, the yarn is relatively bulky but soft.

 

Teekonna rätik on valmis ja kuivab. Jällegi väga lihtne. Korralikud pildid kunagi nädalavahetusel (tuletan meelde, et mul on veel üks sviiter pildistamata, nii et korraga tuleb 2 kudumit).

My travel shawl is finished and drying. Again, it is fairly simple. I hope to have proper pictures taken during the weekend (just to remind, I have a sweater to be photographed yet, so there will be two knits).

 

Teekonna rätik/Travel shawl

Eelmises postituses mainisin rohelise lõnga jääke. Selgus, et on lausa 386 g, täiesti jaki kogus (lõng on puhas villane 100 g/ 250 m). Kuna aga hakkan täna välismaale sõitma, siis mõtlesin, et suhteliselt paksu lõngaga kott võtab palju ruumi. Mõtlesin, et alustan midagi kergemast lõngast. Sviitrist on kõvasti jäänud Taiga-nimelist lõnga, samuti on mingil määral Raasiku 8/3 musta. Siis alustasin hästi lihtsat rätikut.
In the pervious post I mentioned the remaining green yarn. It comes out that I have even 386 g, quite enough for a jacket (the yarn is 100 g/250 m wool). But as I am goint abroad today, I thought that a bag full of relatively thick yarn will demand a lot of space. I decided to start something from a lighter yarn. I have quite a lot of Taiga yarn from the last sweater and some Raasiku 8/3 black yarn. Therefore, I started a very simple shawl.

Ma ei tea, millal saan järgmine kord kirjutada. Olen tagasi järgmise nädala alguses, siis tuleb järgmine postitus.
I have no idea when I will update next time. I will be back in the beginning of the next week and will write the next post then.

Tegemisi/What is going on

Hall sviiter on valmis, aga ma ei tea, millal saan näidata, nüüd on hästi vähe valget aega, pealegi ei ole mul fotograafi. Nädala teises pooles lähen välismaale, võib olla hiljem näitan hulka asju.
The grey sweater is finished but I don't know when I will be able to show it beause light periods are very short at this time of the year and, besides, I have no photographer. In the second part of the week I will be abroad and maybe show several things after that.
Siiski saab rääkida plaanidest. See on musta jaki varruka osa. Pilti vajan õpetuse jaoks. Õpetus on peaaegu valmis ja detsembri keskel alustame kooskudumist.
Nevertheless, it is possible to talk about plans. This is a part of the sleeve of the black cardi. I need the picture for the pattern. The pattern recipe is almost ready and we shall start KAL in the middle of December.

Ja siin on lõngajäägid (tegelikult lõnga on rohkem kui pildil), lõngast tegin rohelise jaki, millest kirjutasin siin. Jakk ise on ammu kingitud, aga lõnga on ja on teatud plaan ka. Ainult peab ära kaaluma ja vaatama, kui palju lõnga on.
And here is the remaining yarn (I have more yarn than shown in the picture), I used it for the green cardigan described here. The cardigan has been given away as a present long ago but some yarn is remaining and I have a certain idea, too. Only that I need to get it weighed and to see, how much yarn I have.

Töödest ja plaanidest/On projects and plans

Praegu on mul töös sviiter hallist segulõngast, millest kirjutasin siin. Praegu jääb veel natuke kere osa kududa, muidu on valmis. Ei tea ainult, millal saan korralikult pildistatud.
Now I am working on a sweater from the grey blend I described here. Now I have to knit a little the torso part and it will be finished in no time. Only that I don't know when I will get proper pictures taken.

 

Tegemisel on rombilise jaki nn retsept. Loodan, et detsembri esimesel poolel hakkame juba Ravelrys kuduma.
I am working on the pattern recipe of the diamond jacket. I hope we will start knitting together on Ravelry in the first part of December.
Diagonaalne sviiter on millegipärast üsna populaarne. Kuna Käsitöö õpetust ei tohi tõlkida ega avaldada mujal, olen lubanud, et koon sarnase teisest lõngast ja siis teen õpetuse. Aga mõni kuduja on juba nii tubli olnud, et on muretsenud endale eestikeelse Käsitöö ja lasknud Google translate'ist läbi, polevat viga (skeemid aitavad muidugi päris oluliselt).
The diagonal sweater is quite popular for some reason. Since it is not allowed to translate or to publish elsewhere patterns from Käsitöö, I have promised to knit a similar sweater from a different yarn and to write up a pattern. But some knitters have already been diligent to get the Estonian-language issue of Käsitöö and to put it through Google translate; not so bad, as I am told (of course, charts help quite a bit).
Veel plaanin töötada mõne konstruktsiooniga. Esialgu on need plaanid ebamäärased.
I am also planning to work with certain constructions. At this stage, the plans are not very clear yet.
